It is an original abstract painting in acrylic it’s painted on a deep edged, stretched canvas measuring 16” x 16”
This painting was created just before Christmas (2021), when my mood was low due to missing a family trip to the theatre. I’d had to cancel due to ongoing seizures making it too dangerous to travel to London. I was housebound so it was painted in ’fits and starts’ literally.
But there’s always light at the end of the tunnel, to shift the darkness and let colours flood back into my life. I thought that I would end up reusing the canvas, but this painting had elevated my mood. The power of art therapy.
I initially lay down the colours, purple, teal and white. Then completely covered the canvas in black, and using a catalyst wedge scraped through the black paint to reveal the colours beneath.
This painting will be sold unframed and signed on the reverse, so that you can decide which way it’s hung. I will provide fixings that are easily attached.
It comes with a certificate of authenticity.
The painting will be sent wrapped in glassine paper to protect the front, corner protectors held on by cling wrap, encased in a waterproof bubble wrap and packaged in double-walled cardboard.
