An original abstract painting - This was the first painting that I attempted and completed after badly injuring my right elbow and putting myself 'out of action' for a while. I did discover that I could colour in quite neatly with my left hand, so with my right arm in a sling I discovered neuropathic art. However I couldn't wait to get back to my easel. Using a silicone brush, because I found it easier to hold and control, this piece evolved a few weeks later.
The coloured acrylic paints were of different densities - heavy body, medium body and flat matt. Giving texture in places and the highly pigmented Matt paints give a stark contrast being non reflective. The deep-edged canvas ( that measures 20" x 20" ) was soon covered in a patchwork of colour.
I don't often use reds in my paintings, but it represents the underlying pain I was feeling. However this is a positive picture with the contrasts of cool greens and blues and splashes of yellow. I hope it translates how happy I was to be painting again.
This painting will be sold unframed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
It will be sent wrapped in glassine paper to protect the front, corner protectors held on by cling wrap, encased in a waterproof bubble wrap and packaged in double-walled cardboard.
